HOUSE AMONG PINES TREES
DESCRIPTION
To the east of the city of Malaga on Monte de San Antón is the residential area of Pinares de San Antón: a location surrounded by nature facing the Mediterranean Sea. The project plot is part of the slope of the mountain and has a significant presence of large pine trees, on a natural terrain with a slope of 21 meters and an area of 1,100 m2.
Hillside homes usually urbanize the plot using retaining walls and terraced terraces, which implies a strong transformation of the land and an equally important investment in urbanization. On the contrary, the strategy of the “Casa entre Pinos” consists of preserving the unique natural conditions of the place and its original topography, transforming the natural slope as little as possible through volumes built in the air, which occupy the free space between the treetops. the trees.
In this way, different cubic bodies descend with the slope, freeing the routes through the plot beneath them. Two of them, the main core of stairs and the main living room, connect with the plot, with the rest remaining above it. Along with the internal routes of the house, stepped terraces, viewpoints and a pool on the roof make up a second circulation in intimate contact with nature and the views of the landscape that surround the house.
